Attention Southwest Public Schools' Families!!!

Did you know that we have an Aviation & Aerospace Club for Middle and High School students?

Former board member, Ed Vesely, carries both an FAA Airline Transport Pilot rating as well as an FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technician rating, developed the idea of starting an Aviation Club to introduce our students to the Aviation Industry. This unique industry offers a strong demand for aviation/aerospace workers. The employment opportunities include Pilots, Maintenance Technician, Drone Operators, Airport Management, Scheduler Dispatcher, Flight Attendant, and more. Along with Dr. Catechis, Southwest Public Schools’ Founder, Mr. Vesely, the enthusiastic support of our school administration and Board, we are proud to say we have about 35 active students.

Southwest Public Schools has become a member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) which assists us with speakers, special aviation tours, and exposure to curriculum allowing our students to be exposed to the exciting career opportunities.

The long-term outlook for aerospace-related careers continues to be positive!!

We meet during the student’s lunch time
We meet monthly
We bring in speakers who can share their experience in the Aviation Industry
Our Topics include: Career opportunities, Aviation Mechanics, Drones, Space travel, etc.
We provide field trips to local airports and flight museums
