Hispanic Heritage Month

Southwest Public Schools was proud to join the nation in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which ran from September 15th to October 15th. This month-long observance provided an opportunity to recognize and honor the countless contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to our country's culture, history, and society.

Hispanic Heritage Month was a time to celebrate the rich and diverse traditions, the achievements of notable individuals, and the collective impact of the Hispanic and Latino communities on the United States. Southwest Public Schools acknowledged the importance of promoting understanding, appreciation, and respect for these invaluable contributions.

Throughout this month, our district was actively engaging in various educational and celebratory activities. Students and staff members participated in classroom discussions, cultural presentations, and special events that highlighted the significant influence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in fields such as art, science, politics, and more.

Southwest Public Schools remains committed to promoting cultural appreciation and diversity throughout the year. Let us continue to come together to celebrate, learn, and honor the immense contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans during this school year.
