CONGRATULATIONS!!! Ms. Damaris Laracuente and Ms. Leticia Gil, this year's teacher and support staff of the year! Here at Southwest Schools, staff members take the time to choose our annual teacher and support staff member each and every year. Whether they are hard at work, or always ready to help, we are given equal opportunity to elect whom we think is the most recognizable. With that being said, these two individuals have made the most favorable impression this year at our campus. Ms. Leticia Gil, our new counselor this year has toiled tirelessly with students, staff, etc... Hosting events such as the "Talk About it Thursday," "Community Closet," and "HCPH Connect Resource Navigation" to name a few. Working with parents assisting them in providing for their needs or helping them get access to resources that would best help. Talking with students individually or in groups, to simply talk and be friendly. Other times to help them through their problems that they might have. Ms. Gil has done it all and more and we hope for her continued service here at Southwest Schools. Ms. Damaris Laracuente is our 2nd grade Bilingual Teacher. Doing what she does best, involving preparing for lessons, making lesson plans for the following months to come, and talking with her peers on what students are doing great and not so good in. Also, assisting students whom aren't able to come to school virtually. Thank you so much, both Ms. Laracuente and Ms. Gil, as well as all of our other teachers and staff, for making Southwest Schools Bissonnet Elementary what it is today.
