Southwest Elementary School’s 21st Century Afterschool Program is designed especially for students from between grades K – 5th Grade
In a collaborative effort with the 21st Century Afterschool Program, Southwest Elementary School is able to provide educational and enrichment activities for the school’s participants.
Applications: Applications are available in the front office. Please return all signed applications to Ms. Jares, Program Coordinator, in the front office. If we do not receive the applications, your child will not be considered registered for the program.
Hours of Operation:
Monday thru Friday 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
With the exception of early dismissal Fridays 12:00-3:00 p.m.
Dismissal Time:
We dismiss at 5:45.m. everyday. Please make sure you have picked up your child no later than 5:45 p.m.
Program Activities:
The Afterschool Program features a number of exciting projects and activities including:
· Extra assistance with homework assignments
· TAKS tutorials
· Zumba
· Karate
· Art and Crafts Classes
· Computer Usage
· Cheerleading
· Robotics
· Space Science
· Sports
· Film/Video Club
· Drama Club
· Dance
Most importantly, your child will get the opportunity to work with trained adults and teen mentors.
Southwest Elementary School’s 21st Century Afterschool Program is a free program that is limited to 150 participants.
1. All participants must have the written consent of their parent or guardian to participate.
2. All participants must agree to regularly attend the program. (Scheduled absences for family events or trips will be excused.)
3. All participants must maintain good discipline and treat other participants and staff with courtesy and respect. Participants having documentation of two disciplinary actions by staff will be expelled from the program. Parents may be notified to retrieve their child from the premises.
Your child should return the completed application form to the front office.
